In the Sierra Mazateca, where Salvia Divinorum grows wild, it is used by medicine men and women in religious rituals. Today, the drug is used for its psychedelic intoxication and as part of healing rituals.
Salvia Divinorum contains Salvinorin A and Salvinorin B as active ingredients.
Salvia cannot be compared to other hallucinogens such as mushrooms or the cacti, it has its own unique effect. The trip lasts very short, 20 minutes to 1 hour. After that, one returns to a normal state.
During the trip, various states may occur including: two-dimensional hallucinations, out-of-body excursions, degeneration of an object, travelling back in time, feeling of being present in several places at once or a laughing fit.
